These products are used in a variety of applications in both the gas utilities and gas transmission business sectors. For example, in the gas utilities sector, tracer wire is used to locate buried polyethylene pipe. The MDPE pipe is buried underground and the tracer wire is then laid directly on top of the pipe as a marker of sorts. Anodes are commonly used as part of large steel lines in the gas transmission sector.
